Summer Pleasures 2018

July 4 – Science Adventures

Summer Pleasures starts off with a bang with Science Adventures! We will be experimenting and investigating the wonders of science with activities such as the incredible hoop glider and more! Admission is by donation.

July 11 – Fairy Tales

It’s the wonderful world of Wellington and we’re celebrating with our favourite fairy tales! Join in on themed crafts, games and activities including making fairy houses for your garden, planting “magic beans” and more! Admission is by donation.

July 18 – Teddy Bear Night at the Museum

Today’s the day the Teddy Bears have their sleepover at the Museum! Bring your bravest Teddy for an afternoon of Teddy Bear Picnic fun with games, crafts, face painting and more! When the picnic is over, you can leave your Teddy for a sleepover at the Museum, then come back the next day to pick up your Teddy and see the pictures of all the adventures they had overnight! Admission is by donation.

July 25 – Medieval Times

Knights, horses and cavaliers! Join us for an afternoon in Medieval Times! We will be making our own stained glass windows, designing our own Coat of Arms, building castles and more! Become a Knight of the Wellington County Museum and enjoy a day back in the Middle Ages! Admission is by donation.

August 1 – Wild Wellington

This week of Summer Pleasures will be a wild one! We will be exploring the wildlife of Wellington County with nature walks on the Museum’s grounds, wildlife crafts and more! Come build your own bird house and learn about the wildlife that calls Wellington County home! Admission is by donation.

August 8 – A Day at the Poor House

Come spend an afternoon lost in time. Kids will get the chance to spend the day living like people did in the 1870’s, when the Wellington County Museum was the Poor House. Come work in the garden, do laundry and make butter like they did almost 150 years ago! There will also be crafts, including a homemade heritage toy to take home! Crafts and activities will be offered from 1 to 4 pm. Admission is by donation.

August 15 – The Sounds of Wellington – Ukulele Workshop with Adrian Jones

Join local ukulele musician Adrian Jones for a music workshop at the Wellington County Museum! From 2 to 3 pm in the Heritage Barn, young musicians will have a chance to try their hand at the ukulele in this one hour workshop! Crafts, games and activities will also be offered from 1 to 4 pm! Admission is by donation.
